Change your mind and everything falls into place.
I came across this great quote from George Bernard Shaw: “Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.”

I would like you to reflect on that for a few minutes. You cannot progress and things cannot change in your life unless you change your mind; change how you perceive things, change and step out of the known and step into the unknown, change your unsupportive habits, or stop being a habitual person.
Many people fear change; they do not seem to understand and appreciate the great benefits it can bring into their lives. Perhaps they don’t want to change because they know that this will bring discomfort.
True, this does happen; change does bring with it feelings of discomfort. Yet it also equals progress and success. You may long for a particular change: a new job, more self-confidence, less procrastination, a new relationship, but fear stands in your way.
You are scared to apply for another job because you have to leave the ‘known’ and enter the ‘unknown’ of the new job. Because of this fear you may decide to stick with the job you hate.
For you to progress in life you will have to change your mind; you have to change how you perceive yourself and the life you are living.
Sure, at first, doing things differently may feel challenging and uncomfortable, but realise that the uncomfortable feelings will become comfortable quite quickly. The comfortable feelings that you presently experience represent your comfort zone: the things you are familiar with, the known.
It is important that you comprehend that if you do not expand your comfort zone, you will never grow; you will never progress or get ahead in life. If you don’t grow you will become frail and die unhappy and unfulfilled.
You embrace the comfortable feeling of contentment by remaining within your comfort zone, but for you to be happy and fulfilled you will have to expand the boundaries. True fulfilment lies outside your familiar area.
So, having said all that, how do you expand the comfort zone you have created? Simple. Rather than suddenly jumping into the unknown and feeling queasy and troubled, start off by taking small steps.
Take a different route home, change how you get dressed, increase your customary ten sales calls a day to eleven. As time goes by decrease the number of calls, return to the way you previously got dressed.
Be creative. Change your habits as often as possible, and after a while making the big changes that you want will not feel as uncomfortable as you may think.
For you to get ahead you have to create the necessary change.
You have to regularly put yourself in uncomfortable situations so you may grow.
All change begins when you change your mind and it starts when you change your habits. Change your mind and everything falls into place.
If you don’t make an effort to step up and change, you will not get ahead and grow. If you’re not growing you’re not living.
